In our 38th week...

Clinton is considered full term and can arrive at any time!  He is developed enough that even if he came tomorrow he would be just fine.

Here's what's going on with us!  Sean and I are thrilled to meet him.  We have our hospital bag packed and are just waiting on Clinton to make his appearance.

We are going to the doctor once a week to get a check-up.  We probably will not have any more ultrasounds. My blood pressure has been fantastic the entire pregnancy and I'm just now starting to have a tad of swelling in my ankles some days.  The best way to fight this is to put your feet up and drink plenty of water.

While we are ready for him to arrive any day, most first time pregnancies usually go until 41 weeks.  We are trying to stay patient, but it's difficult.  We can't wait to show off our little man to you all!

In our 37th week...

Clinton continues to grow and develop, measuring over 19 inches long, and weighing 6 ½ lbs or more!During week 37, his most important job is to keep putting on weight. Actually, that’s his primary job from now until delivery.  Technically speaking, we will be full term on Saturday (37 weeks), so he could come any time now!

  • He's getting closer and closer to being able to breathe on his own.
  • His skin is getting smooth and soft and his gums are rigid.
  • His liver and kidneys are in working order.
  • Circulation and immune systems are basically good to go, too.
It's almost time!!

In our 36th week...

He now measures anywhere from 19 to 22 inches long and might weigh about 6 lbs (but probably more in our case)! Many of my apps say he's about the size of a large cantaloupe.  As our due date approaches (only a month from tomorrow!), our little one will settle deeper in the pelvis. This reduces pressure on my rib cage, allowing me more room to expand my diaphragm (yay!), but now there may be more pressure on your bladder (boo).

By week 35, Clinton’s kidneys are completely developed. His liver is also beginning to produce waste. In fact, a majority of his growth is already done. However, you should expect him to put on some more weight over the next few weeks. As space is at a premium, I may not feel as much tossing and turning inside of me, but I will definitely feel some healthy punches and kicks. Clinton has always been a mover and a shaker and while it's slowed a bit, he is still very active!

Other fun facts:

  • Now, his hearing is fully developed, and he responds best to high-pitched noises.
  • My uterus has grown about 1,000 times its original size!!
  • Clinton will continue to put on 1/2 lb or more each week until his arrival
