In our 25th week...

Clinton continues to grow and develop. Measuring about 13 inches long, he weighs 1.5 - 2lbs!  In the coming weeks, he will continue to grow and mature at a fast rate, gaining some baby fat and filling out his long, lean frame.

As he gains weight, his skin begins to become less wrinkled and he begins to look more, and more like a newborn. Also, his skin is finally gaining some color. His hands are fully developed by this week, fingerprints and all! And at 25 weeks, the structure of the spine is beginning to form (33 rings, 150 joints, and 1000 ligaments)!

It's crazy how active our little one is!  Almost every time Sean and I place our hand on my belly he moves, kicks, or gives us a high five.  It is such a blessing to know that he is moving and growing so much.  I will say it again (and probably many more times), God is amazing and His miracles astound me!

24 weeks!

In our 24th week...

[Our] baby continues to grow and develop. He is now about the size of an ear of corn: measuring around 12 inches long and weighing around 1.5 pounds! In the coming weeks, our baby will continue to grow and mature at a fast rate, gaining about 6 ounces of weight a week. His brain is growing rapidly, and his taste buds are developing.

He is pretty lean at 24 weeks, but he'll soon be putting on some "baby fat" to fill out his frame and his wrinkled skin, which is due to the lack of subcutaneous fat. He has begun to develop white blood cells. These cells are responsible for fighting off disease and infection. His lungs develop branches this week, and his inner ear is completely developed. In fact, he has basic control over all of his senses: hearing, touch, taste, smell, and vision!
